Something New Is Coming...

I've been sitting on this for a while, and I can't keep it to myself any longer.
If you know me, you know romance is my home. I love writing love stories. I love the tension, the chemistry, the messy emotions, and the happily-ever-afters. That hasn't changed, and it never will. But something else has been pulling at me for a long time now, something darker, something that kept me up at night, something I knew I had to write even though it scared me.
I wrote a psychological thriller.
Yes, you read that right.
Why a Thriller?
I've always been fascinated by the things people bury. The secrets they carry. The lies they tell themselves and everyone around them just to survive. My romance novels explore that too, but with a thriller, I could go deeper. Darker. I could pull back the curtain on trauma, silence, and what happens when the past refuses to stay buried.
This story demanded a different kind of storytelling, and I gave it everything I had.
Here's What I Can Tell You
The book is called Tangled Roots, and it's the first installment of a new series.
It's set in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains, along the shores of a lake where wealthy and powerful men have gathered for years, a place that looks peaceful from the outside but holds something far more sinister beneath the surface.
At its heart, this is a story about survivors. People connected by a trauma they've spent over a decade trying to outrun. When the past comes calling, they're forced to confront what happened, who was responsible, and how far they're willing to go for justice. But the deeper they dig, the more dangerous the truth becomes, because some of the people they trust most have been hiding in plain sight.
The story is told through multiple perspectives, and every voice reveals a new layer, a new secret, a new reason to question everything you thought you knew. Nothing is what it seems. No one is who they appear to be. And by the time you reach the final pages, everything you believed will be turned upside down.
This One Is Personal
I won't lie, writing this book challenged me in ways I didn't expect. Stepping outside of romance and into a genre built on suspense, manipulation, and moral gray areas pushed me as a writer. There were moments I questioned whether I could pull it off. But the characters wouldn't let me quit. Their stories demanded to be told, and once I started, I couldn't stop.
What I'm most proud of is that even in a thriller, my mission stays the same: I want readers to see themselves in these characters. These are people navigating real pain, real trauma, and real choices. The genre is different, but the heart of what I do hasn't changed.
What's Next
I'll be sharing more in the coming weeks, character introductions, behind-the-scenes details, and maybe a sneak peek or two. Trust me, you're going to want to follow along for this one.
For now, just know this: the roots run deep. And when you pull them up, you won't believe what's underneath.

Love, lies, and everything in between
